How to root on Android Lollipop without modifying stock kernel

Android 5.0 is a massive step up in security with its modified implementation of SELinux. Chainfire was able to get root on Lollipop quickly once it was released, of course, but the method has been a bit more messy. 
In order to get root on Android Lollipop aka 5.0, you need to modify your stock kernel, and there are also a fair amount of root apps that are damaged on Android 5.0. 

But now Chainfire had released the latest SuperSU v2.30 that can root your Android Lollipop devices without any modifying kernel stuff, just need to flash the flashable zip through custom recovery. Chainfire thinks this version really should be stable enough to launch on the Play Store, which means we will finally have a stable root for Lollipop!

3. Boot in to the Custom Recovery.
4. Navigate to the folder where the zip file has been placed.
5. Flash the zip file via custom recovery.
6. Done. Enjoy your rooted Android Lollipop device.

How to Install Material Design Themes on your TWRP Recovery

Material is the new-age design and style guideline used by Google and implemented for the very 1st time on their latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It is entirely based on the concept of simpleness and colors. Day to day, we find out a list of new Apps that are up-to-date with Material Design. Since almost everything is getting materialized, from ROM UI to Apps, then why recovery have to be left behind the path. Designers and Developers at XDA are never late to come up with these kinds of ideas.

I think many of you are well aware of what is TWRP. For those people who don’t. TWRP or TeamWin Recovery Project is a custom recovery which supports touch UI. It allows you to wipe off partitions, flash new files, mount partitions etc. Also, I’m quite sure that I am not the only one here who thinks that the TWRP screen looks way to classic and good old. Since we believe in keeping up-to-date with the latest design, the TWRP should also not be left alone.

XDA Senior Member s31s1g has successfully created and released his own and self-created Material Design theme for the TWRP recovery. Our developer here has already been successful in his efforts to entirely mimic the appearance of the recovery, very similar to an Android App. It offers a wide range of personalization and is available to download for a list of common screen sizes. Also, a few others have currently grabbed the privilege to port this materialized theme to their scaled-down screen sizes, so it is not just bounded to the high-end devices. Materialized TWRP themes are available in 3 different versions - Dark, Light and Play (I’m sure you are pretty simple to have a tough idea). It supports TWRP v2.8 and above. There is a huge chance that it will do the job on the earlier versions, but will screw up the things for no good. Let us see down the page how does it look and also how you can get this theme work on your Android device.

Install Material Design Themes for TWRP

1. Download the latest package of the Materialized TWRP for your device.
2. Open the folder where the package has been downloaded.
3. Now, right-click on the package, and select Rename.
4. Rename it to “ui.zip” (.zip is the extension).
5. Connect your device to the PC via USB cable in either Mass Storage or MTP mode.
6. Open the Root of device’s storage and open the “TWRP” folder (If you have TWRP installed, it should be there).
7. Create a new folder named “theme” (without caps) within this folder and open it.
8. So now the directory would be <storage>/TWRP/theme/
9. Paste the ui.zip file in here.
10. Keep the device connected and enter the following command in a CMD window to reboot your device into Recovery mode.

     adb reboot recovery

11. You will now be able to see the updated design of your TWRP recovery.
